"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Jesus did not say "become" the light — He said "you are" the light. The identity precedes the action. When we truly know who we are in Christ, shining becomes natural rather than forced. A lamp does not strain to illuminate a room; it simply burns. Our call is not to perform goodness for applause, but to live so authentically that people look past us and see the Father.
